Table Shuffleboard Building
Paul Sobiech's Table Shuffleboard Project
Here's my 16 ft table built with a few mods to your plans. The frame is hard maple, walnut inlays, dovetail joints, and a walnut frame rail. The frame bed is lined with cork flooring material. The playing surface is recycled bowling alley wood (hard maple) with mother-of-pearl and malachite inlays as scoring indicators. The play surface was stabilized using hardwood backing as opposed to pulling apart (alley wood is typically sidenailed) and doing a full glue-up. Walnut inlays were used for the play surface lines and plugs. The play surface is coated with many coats of floor polyurethane for future repair ease (as opposed to epoxy). Four climate adjusters were used, resulting in a very adjustable and consistent play surface. Legs are flat iron with swivel levelers. Potential future add-ons: scoring units, lights, and drink holders. Cheers!
